#01 Botanical Vase

A medium size Stoneware & Obvara vase printed directly with plant material, this vessel can also function as a planter. Part of my practise as a maker is to work with different techniques and materials, and in the process cross the boundaries that exist between them. The vase is sealed with Elements Earth that protects the delicate botanical prints with a permanent layer. Elements Earth really is the Rolls Royce of food safe nanotech sealers to protect unglazed ceramic surfaces, and leaves a matt low sheen look on the ceramics surface. Elements Air Lite is a natural food safe solution with anti-bacterial properties for use on any unglazed fired ceramic surface. Unlike a varnish, it does not form a film on the treated surface, but rather penetrates and saturates the ceramic material. It is a matt application and once dry forms a completely invisible layer on the ceramics surface. and does not change the natural look and feel of the unglazed ceramic piece. It is highly water repellant, oil and fat repellent and anti-bacterial. It is also alkali, acid , alcohol and chemical resistant, and has a high UV resistance as well.
This product is perfect for sealing unglazed ceramics such as vases, planters, light fittings and sculptures (indoor & outdoor) that will be used as decorative pieces. It can be used on any type of clay. It can also be used over a glaze to waterproof hairline cracks and crazing, where seeping of water occurs. For instance: A vase that was glazed on the inside but have hairline cracks that lets water seep through.
Elements Air Lite is the lighter version of Elements Air and is a commercial strength product, specifically developed for ceramics.
Recommended to be used with Elements Primer to increase the spread rate of the final sealer.
